I almost had myself convinced
That I was a lone mist in the dark
So sure I'd left nothing remiss

I mattered in a greater manner
Alone wasn't what I should be

I am not dead and never will be
I soon overcame the negligence of my own needs

I let in the light, and it restored

I saw the embers and lit them once more
I became a person ever better!


Whose idea was it that I stay put
Anyways, it won't have to matter anymore
Time to show how much I could
Have done so long ago if I'd already stepped through the door
An array of metaphors crossed my mind
To keep my epiphany deeply installed inside
I'm leaving all my regrets behind
It's time to cut through all the lies


I let in the light, and it restored
I found myself greater than ever
I made the embers burn once more
I became a person ever better!


My worth has been made clear now
I'm so glad I listened to me
I thought I'd lost so long ago
But now I know I'm something the world needs
Now I can show everyone how much they mean, too
And I can make them harmonize in a special vow
My soul has been getting restless to show you
It's time to show them I'll change the world somehow!
