Can You See Me?

How do you do it, how do you do it
You treat me like a breeze
Just listen to yourself, I want to know
Why you strive to exclude me
Your ignorance is like acid on my heart
And your eyes never seemed to shade darker
I need your acknowledgement, I need your say
Come to life and notice what isn't blocking your way

Don't listen to me; I'm just begging too much
I know you care so don't become too overworked
I don't need attention, not even a mere mention
Won't fish for love, so it's okay if I just lurk
You're better for not worrying about a silly fool like me
All I need is your friendship to last in this life
Listen to your words because I'm aware of our evens
I trust you understand so please move on from this insignificant strife

I need a heart to focus on me at all
I already know you care because of your subtle call
Your eyes have to listen to me
Your ears don't need to see me

Aren't you aware that I'm in your world?
I know you're aware that I'm part of your life
Your ignorance is making my anger unfurl
Don't need a vow or sign that I'll stay inside
So listen to my words or no light will beam
I know your heart shouldn't see me as necessary
Because I know that you really need me
You'll think of some way to cope without me

It's only my fault that I'm so shy and isolated
So I'll get the attention that I so fairly deserve in time
And, what the hell, you can walk the road without me
Don't you dare treat me as if I'm so entirely sublime

Aren't you done being selfish and excluding
Don't you have an idea of the damage you're doing?
Oh, well; we'll just have to see in time exactly why
This putrid ignorance is just crossing the fine line

I need a heart to focus on me at all
Not everything is about me; just let go of me and let me fall

Are you even aware that I exist in your life?
I know you're aware of my role in this world
Wasn't I there when you suffered and cried?
So let them recognize that we are all the same
Who's the selfish one here when I clearly know better?
You're the one here that's truthfully learned
If this is reality, then here; I'm giving you my final letter!
How to ensure that we play a fair game

All of my fear
All of my worry
All of my anger
All of my sorrow
All of my hatred
All of my woe
All of my deadness
All that I borrow
You banished, fought, and killed
Is not yours to suffer
You brought all to a standstill
Is not yours to repair
So deep down, in the end
In the end, be the buffer
I hope you never forget
And forget me to clear the air

So if you never see me
Even if you don't see me now

I'll see you on the other side...
