Below The Pier

[ Sorry, no picture here! ]

and it all came crashing down
the walls crumbled into ashes from a former glory.
he couldn't believe what he'd become;

something had gone wrong
gone and taken him away

all this time

it took so long
to realize

how much he was killing himself
destroying himself from the inside out

a hollow vessel of the human he strived to retain
and now his face is just dust
and his heart bleeds profusely
under the
coldest light
he'd ever seen

and they all told him to breathe
but all he did was cry
because the Devil had taken his breath away
and defiled his lips and his heart,
his brain and his soul

and now there is nothing left to save.
he stops crying.
there is no more water in the well.

shallow
it was a dive into shallow waters

and he had drowned.

he couldn't believe how alive the dead were (the ultimate empathy)
when his heart finally ceased to beat
with a
three
two
one

Bang.
